Mile 56: 2017 Outlook

The 2017 race season is shaping up to be another busy year for myself and JAM! Just Another Mile. So far I have at least nine events on the calendar and hopefully adding another one or two. This year will be all about FUN! Last year was fun, but also challenging. I wanted to focus on adding more fun events in 2017 for both me and the team. For the most part I’ll be running solo again, but there are a few events where I’ll have a few people with me. Running with a team is enjoyable, but it’s also great to make new friends along the course.

Here’s a few of my goals for this season:

Achieve another Savage Syndicate Medal

  • I’m scheduled for two Savage Race’s this year so I’m hopeful to add another syndicate medal to my collection.

Find new teammates

  • It’s become very difficult in recruiting friends to race this year. As races become more expensive and schedules fill up quickly it’s challenging to commit. I’m going to try to find some new teammates through social media, this blog and at the events. It would be great to have a solid group at most events.

Strive for five total Tough Mudder’s

  • I’m scheduled for one Tough Mudder already, but I’d like to add another. It would be great to have five total Tough Mudder’s before the end of the year. Only five more to go for 10!

Try new and smaller events

  • I added Goliathon and the Muddy Mortal events to my schedule. I’m also considering a few local OCR’s. It would be great to try some new races each season.

Race season is roughly 2.5 months away. I’m looking forward to it and excited to continue writing my blog along the way. Hopefully your race season looks as promising as mine.
